Dear Writers and Contributors,
The United States finds itself filled with sorrow, outrage, and grief over the loss of yet another Black person’s life that was tragic, unjust, and shocking. George Floyd is not the first to die unnecessarily at the hands of others. We hope he will be the last. The unbelievable images and events in the news during an already difficult time—COVID 19, makes everyone more fragile. Although Silver Sage Magazine does not post or publish on religious or political events such as these latest protests and riots, our thoughts and hearts are burdened not only at our conscience but at our core as to what we all consider to be a just and humane society.
For our writers near and far, on our land and across the oceans, my thoughts are with everyone. I offer my sympathies to the family and loved ones of George Floyd, to the victims and families of COVID-19 and all those who tirelessly work through this pandemic to put food on their table, help those in need and struggle internally and externally with all recent events. Silver Sage Magazine denounces racism, bigotry, anti-Semitism and all forms of hate and injustice. We are committed to inclusivity and the diversity of our writing community and our respect and compassion for one another.
My thoughts are with you all. Stay safe and be well.
