With mixed reviews, AliveCor® has unveiled it’s new, FDA-cleared, wearable EKG for atrial fibrillation detection that doubles as an Apple Watch®. KardiaBand detects heart abnormalities and normal sinus rhythms in an EKG. When the device detects something unusual, it sends a notification for you to take your own EKG which then records it and sends the information directly to your cardiologist’s office.
This new watch is $199 and you need to purchase a monthly subscription fee. This is not a replacement for a doctor’s care and if you are experiencing any signs of a stroke or an irregular, rapid heart rate – you should seek immediate medial attention.
