The Internal Revenue Service has rolled out a simpler, shorter version of the standard 1040 Form for those 65 and older. Using enlarged typeface and no more shaded boxes that are difficult to see, this new 1040 SR is intended to help Silver Sagers report social security and retirement benefits from qualified plans and annuity income. Similar to the 1040 EZ, the 1040 SR is made just for those who are over 65. Although, we’d love to know why they call it the “SR” we’re guessing it’s short for “seniors.”
