COVID-19: Fact & Fiction
Fiction: Only older people can get the virus.
Fact: Anyone can get the virus. Old, youmg, any race, any nationality.
Fiction: Only or older people are at risk from getting seriously ill or dying from the virus.
Fact: Anyone who has any medical condition that weakens their body to fight infection is at more risk from getting severely ill from the virus.
Fiction: You should still stay away from anyone who was quarantined or isolated from the virus.
Fact: Once a person has been quarantined or isolated and has passed the time required, they are no longer infectious.
Fiction: Using good hygiene really won’t work to prevent you from getting the virus.
Fact: Good hygiene (hand washing with soap, not touching your face, not touching any public surfaces and covering your mouth and nose when sneezing or coughing) can absolutely help prevent you and others from getting the virus.
Other things you can do to help yourself and others stay healthy? Open the windows in your home and let the fresh air in if you can, keep yourself well hydrated and get plenty of rest. Lastly, stay home if you’re feeling under the weather. Better safe than sorry.
We wish all of our Silver Sagers and their families a healthy 2020.
